Pups on The Way


The American Pit Bull Terrier as described by the United Kennel Club(UKC) was the first registry to recognize the American Pit Bull Terrier. U.K.C. founder C.Z. Bennett assigned U.K.C. registration number 1 to his own APBT, Bennett's Ring in 1898.

Sometime during the nineteenth century, dog fanciers in England, Ireland, and Scotland began to experiment with crosses between Bulldogs and Terriers, looking for a dog that combined the gameness of the terrier with the strength and athleticism of the Bulldog.

Immigrants brought these bull and terrier crosses to the United States. Farmers and ranchers used their APBTs for protection, as catch dogs for semi-wild cattle and hogs, to hunt, to drive livestock, and as family companions.

Today, the American Pit Bull Terrier continues to demonstrate its versatility, competing successfully in Obedience, Tracking to include Search & Rescue (SAR), Agility, Protection, and Weight Pulls, as well as Conformation.

BUYER/ SELLER PURCHASE AGREEMENT When purchasing a puppy/dog from Hill Top Pitt Bull Terriers, I SWEAR AND AGREE that my puppy/dog will not be used for any illegal purposes that violate the 1976 Animal Welfare Act or any state or federal laws. In no moment or time during my conversations and communications, did Hill Top Pitt Bull Terriers talk about any illegal activities. I, the buyer was told NOT to engage into any illegal activities, and that Hill Top Pitt Bull Terriers is AGAINST dog fighting and animal abuse. I was advised to respect all federal and state laws concerning animal welfare. The puppy/dog I am purchasing will either be a pet, breeding stock, or used for conformation shows, weight pulling, or boar hunting ( if allowed in the state I reside). I, the buyer am responsible for any doings of my pup/dog from this date _______________. The seller, Hill Top Pitt Bull Terriers is not responsible in any way for anything that this pup/dog may do including a dog bite to a person or animal. Also, I the buyer agree not to sell this pup/dog or it’s descendants to someone who might fight these dogs. The Seller, Hill Top Pitt Bull Terriers promotes the positive side of the APBT and the positive usage of the breed. I also agree that my dog will receive the proper care and nutrition a healthy dog requires. By this I mean that my pup/dog will get his/her yearly vaccinations. The best vet care and food. I was informed that my pup/dog was sold as is. I do not warrant the dog/pup in any way. The pup/dog has received the proper vet care and nutrition while being owned by Hill Top Pitt Bull Terriers and I agree to continue with the care of my dog/pup while in my possession.
